Please find another way to say casual besides ‘as if discussing the weather’! Every single time the author wants to make it clear that the character is speaking nonchalantly she uses that phrase. Seriously, every time! As much as I am enjoying the story, these little things are driving me crazy.

Okay, sticking your nose into a dude’s armpit to sniff as foreplay is weird. I said what I said.

Their playful banter is, frankly, awkward and a bit immature.

“Make him better, Maggie. Fuck him whole.” Because sex is definitely the cure for PTSD…
This whole bit feels manipulative. The only thing that can help Jonathan when he has suffered from a nightmare is the thing Maggie told them plainly that she wasn’t okay with. How convenient.

I am really not fond of the word ‘cream’ in a sexual context so it’s a little annoying that the author doesn’t seem to know ANY other word for vaginal fluids.

I love that the young woman being bratty and pushy was put in her place. I feel like that kind of behavior is often portrayed in historical romances as “strong” and good. The heroine showed her strength in her response without being obnoxious. I hope that Veronica has matured by the time the series gets to her story.
