is 15% done
... this was a fun read. I found myself longing to know about all the other alternate events in this timeline. Author dropped just enough trinkets for that longing. Of course I was left with questions but they were of the good kind: what happens next, how did the world get like this, and many others of the sort. I was satisfied with the read.

Luckily, by "Star Trek time", the tech problems with scanning folks and throwing them across the universe is all fixed up. But not in this tale.
The story drudges up question about what people hold back to pursue what they perceive as their desire. How often do we lie to ourselves about what we want? Teleportation helps filter truth from fiction in this heartfelt story about longing.

The Fear of Missing Out

This is our future; a world of inauthentic people choosing fancy, deceptive, "perfect" version of humanity over reality. This story reveals the truth of how inavoidable it is that technology will enslave humanity, but what's sad and discomforting is that we'd do it willingly. Society is truly at a point where it values tech-based lies over realness in personality.

... this tale exposes that humanity is living out Asimov's stories, in a sense. It's only a matter of time before the humanoid machine and organic humanoid will be at odds, neither wanting to be enslaved. This short REFLECTION is a glimpse into that past. Could it possibly be to warn against following it through? Maybe.

One Hundred Years of Robots
I enjoyed learning about how 'machines' became "robots" as I read this bit of history. It is also nice to see how science fiction has slowly turned into science fact.
People get upset when jobs are lost to automatons (of any fashion), but find themselves already enslaved to them. We as a species are slaves to mobile devices, televisions, computers, and etc. Organic slaves to machines ...

A Magical Eire
Felt more like a history of a land steeped in fantasy, rather than science fiction related. Very finite details of the locations visited or how they made the author feel. Its a quick quip that felt me wanting. Wanting more details about the history of the places, wanting to visit myself to learn more. Maybe that was the point?
