After a long break with this series I feel a bit removed from the story. I still enjoy the style of writing and there are moments of beauty in the language. With the plot being about a very brutal war it feels like I picked the wrong book to read right now. I’m hoping for a moment of catharsis and the depth of emotion the first books in the series brought.
