I'm not a fan of the short, choppy chapters, but the author is good at making historical, biographical, and personality narrative---there's so much that is interesting about this man, his connections---meeting/working with Hitchcock, Charlie Chaplin, Stalin, Haldane, Trotsky, Eisenstein---his life, interests/work, being trusted as shoe-in nobility because of his parents' influence.
