Slow progress with the second story. Don't know where this is going but I guess it's somewhere sad.

Wow, the characters in Book I ('Washington Square') were actually insufferable. But you can't deny that Yanagihara writes so damn masterfully, I'd actually read a microwave manual if it was written by her. Excited for the remaining two stories, though.
