I'm sad to be DNFing this. This is a good book, well crafted and well written. I see no flaws in it other than the plot and direction don't align with my personal taste. I liked the two main characters, but they didn't have enough connections to other characters. They felt like they floated away from the rest of the world, more well rounded than the rest. This made it impossible to care about the action-heavy plot.

This book has a writing style I really like, but so far it's way too action heavy for me- however that's not the books fault, everything about it from the first few pages promises that is they type of book it'll be. It's just a shame because everything else, the characters, the world, the writing, really appeals to me. I'm not sure how much I'll be able to read if it doesn't start to adhere more to my personal taste.
