I'm a couple chapters into the audiobook and ngl thinking of dnfing, not bad just not my jam!!

It took too long to get going, to the point that when the plot started, I'd lost interest.

The start of this is so slow, I need content, the tea, the spice. I first found this on the horror shelf and I want to feel that.

I'm re-reading this.

When you read a favourite book, the fear is that, when you re-read it, you won't like it as much as the first time.

Nope. This is still a stunning read, battling it's way towards by top 3 favourite novels ever.

I'm enjoying this book but I hate the audiobook narrators, they do the voices but they don't put in the feeling. Plus they sound so posh that it's hard to engage with. I'd like to think I'd come back to this as a physical book someday as there's a lot about it that I am enjoying.

Also this 100% takes some inspiration from The Great Gatsby.

Otherwise I really like the writing and the audiobook narrators do a great job.

I was expecting not to like this story since I disliked Newitz's novel "Autonomous" but I was pleasantly surprised. While I find her writing a bit stiff, I found, by the end of the story, that the author made her point clearly, and I liked the development of the central idea. I didn't realize it was a Pinocchio retelling until the end where the author explains

I love the cover, but i don't know if it's the audiobooks narrator or if the voice of the novel is just not for me, but I'm finding that I'm struggling to get into this one. It could be a dnf soon.

I think this is something I might've enjoyed years ago, but it just doesn't quite hit for me now

Not bad, but while I love marvel, I think other superhero stories just aren't my thing.

Reading this on audiobook. I'd initially picked this up because I'm a big scrabble fan myself, but the book is failing to engage me and the narrator has a grating edge to her voice that is hard to relax and listen to. I'm sad this book didn't work for me, but I could still see myself picking something else up from this author in the future.

I'm listening to this on audiobook, and I'm powering through this at a speed I haven't in a while. It's so unlike what I normally read, but there's something engaging and compelling about it. It helps that Evanna is an actress and narrating her own audiobook.

I'm sad to be DNFing this. This is a good book, well crafted and well written. I see no flaws in it other than the plot and direction don't align with my personal taste. I liked the two main characters, but they didn't have enough connections to other characters. They felt like they floated away from the rest of the world, more well rounded than the rest. This made it impossible to care about the action-heavy plot.

Reading this on audio so not 100% sure how far I am through this atm, but I'm really enjoying everything about this so far. I didn't realize Emily Woo Zeller was the main narrator for this, as I really haven't enjoyed her narration in the past, but I'm liking her performance here more than I've liked it in other novels so far.

This book has a writing style I really like, but so far it's way too action heavy for me- however that's not the books fault, everything about it from the first few pages promises that is they type of book it'll be. It's just a shame because everything else, the characters, the world, the writing, really appeals to me. I'm not sure how much I'll be able to read if it doesn't start to adhere more to my personal taste.

I'm bored. It took too long for the interesting thing in the blurb to happen, and now that interesting things are starting to happen, it took too long that I lost connection to the story and I'm not inclined to pick up the book again. I'll try to engage with the end of the story but we shall see.

I think this just confirms that I should stick to reading Schwab's adult works.

im like 4 chapters into the audiobook and im a bit bored atm tbh, buuut, i've ordered the physical copy from the library to see if reading it both ways will help me get through it quicker. But im going to take a break from it for now.

DNF. I like the main character, but the pacing and writing style makes it too difficult to sink into this story. It is reading very episodic right now which is not to my taste.

DNF. I really enjoyed the first in this series, but there's not enough compelling character relationships (platonic or otherwise) to make me interested in continuing.

Im listening to this on audiobook. I'm kinda bored??? I liked the first in this series but I don't really get the point of this one. There's not enough character relations and I don't like the POVs that aren't Jovis and Lin.

One day I will sit down and read this. I enjoyed the last chapter I read like a month ago. I'm just finding no time to physically read. Apologies to the library for never returning this. (I promise I will once I'm finished!!)

I was enjoying this a lot, just struggling to read rn, but it's going to expire on my netgalley, and they narrative looks like it is going to jib out of following its premise which is disappointing and makes the story less compelling.

I'm actually really enjoying this, I'm just struggling to find time to read with my lifestyle right now (work, driving lesson, volleyball, socialising- and i have to eat in there somewhere)

I think I have to dnf this. It has a similar voice to House on the Cerulean Sea and I think people who enjoyed that should give this more of a chance. Only the topic in this book was triggering my anxiety (even though this is very light-hearted and not so dark) so I thought it best for me to put this aside.

I'm going to dnf this, it isn't a terrible book, but I'm almost a third of the way through and I'm not captivated. I like Lukas a lot but Jeremy's POV is horrible to listen to.
