The beginning seemed intriguing, especially the client and what appears to be a case of murder. But for some inexplicable reason, the author has stopped mid-book to delve into the MC's backstory. As an avid mystery-reader, I'm wanting clues and threads to solve the mystery, not tedious events and conversations about how the character started her career. Here's hoping I can stick with this book...
