This book has gorgeous language, but I feel disconnected to this world. The protagonist is 17, but the mature language seems unnatural from what I imagine a 17 year old to think. It's extremely solemn . I feel like I'm reading a robot's thoughts. It's possible that's intentional, given the theme of "perfect society" I'm over half way done, and I don't feel like much has happened. I'm eager to keep reading though!

It seems too mature for the age; I feel like I'm reading a robot's thoughts, not a teenager's. It's possible that's intentional, given the "perfect/non-deviating society" theme. Although I'm over half way through I don't feel like much has happened, but I'm excited to keep reading the series!
