A lot of bonding had happened between Johnny and Cush and they are actually working together for once. I like how even though they are really different and argue a lot, they still tolerate each other. I think that soon Cush will let Johnny be free and go home.

Johnny has started to like Cush a little more because he is trying to get him out of a Confederate jail cell. I think by the end of this book Johnny and Cush will be friends and go their separate ways.

Johnny has been captured and on the journey somewhere he gets to know the person that captured him. He is black and Johnny doesn't like black people so its interesting to see how they interact. I predict there will be more fighting on their journey.
