I cannot get over how beautifully atwood writes... i love how, throughout the book, she mentions things that are everyday objects and occurrences that are no longer normal. for instance, the protagonist mentions a red octagon, stating that it means stop. That's obvious to us as we live with those signs everyday but in stating the obvious it makes the scene all the more dystopian... genius. dare I say, a new favorite?
