Dracula: Romania chose the castle of Bran as the centre for Dracula tourism, principally because it was accessible and in good repair having been renovated by Queen Marie between the wars. Vlad Dracul might have beseiged it in 1460, might. A tourist brochure suggests the castle might have inspired Bram Stoker on his trip through Transylvania. The author observes that stoker never was in Transylvania.
