Tallulah makes it easy to pick up again after a year's hiatus. She's a master of delightful digression, flashbacks within flashbacks are her forte, in life and as diarist. From one digressor to another, I'm vibing again. She reprints Arnold Bennett's marvelous account of her sensational ruling of the London stage. Tallulah, unlike social media hacks today, is the best self-aggrandizer - there's substance behind it.

One of the unfinished books I intend to notch this year. Enjoying it more on the second try. Tallulah was a wild gal, for sure.

Let's get back to Ms. Tallulah. I jilted her some time back in a way that no living man of her time would have dared. I'm enjoying her rapier wit and style much more on this second go. Miss Tallulah comes from back in the day when Americans didn't like fascists, unlike today.
