No! No! This book is so infuriating, in so many ways that I don't even know where to start.
*Taking a deep breath*
Will read to know how a non-Indian who 'spent several months in South India learning about Devadasis' became an expert not just on Devadasis but also bhakti movement and various Hindu Saints and seers and their literature to an extent that each chapter (contd in comments, reached char limit)

I can’t. DNFing this book. This is very infuriating. To top that, I just came across an article that says ‘Bharatanatyam was deliberately separated from Sudra bodies in the 1930s by upper caste cultural nationalists’.
Like what!!!
These folks don’t really have the guts nor the common sense to look into what separated the Devadasis from their arts, their inherited knowledge systems, their lifestyle… (contd)

begins with random, out-of-context extracts from their work and other Hindu literature including Bhagavad Gita that serve what purpose only the author can answer.

This is the same way a retarded traveller words was taken into consideration about a great Jain Queen of Karnataka " Kingdom fell because of her illicit relationship between her & military commander" a traveller who visited that 20 years after her death.. This is how it works..
I recently read somewhere about how folks making these vile, derogatory, dehumanising propaganda against Sanatana Dharma, Hindus and their way of life including Hindu kingdoms and their rulers are either wilfully blind or blissfully ignorant. These folks publishing literature such as this fall in the category of ‘wilfully blind’. There is such a strong ecosystem behind them that they get way and have gotten away with their hateful and false propaganda for so long.
