The ending made me tear up. What a great end to the main portion of the book. All the frustration and time put into this book was well worth those final three chapters. On to the Appendices! Which is really what I bought the book for. Hoping to never read scientific exegesis over Genesis 1-11 again :D

280 pages in and the drudgery has paid off!! Chapter 8 is built different. Smooth sailing from now on.

Still struggling with the density of this book. He has just gotten into comparing Genesis 1-11 with the actual historical record. He goes into language trees and records of civilization prior to the supposed date of the Flood.

My only qualm is that the title is a little misleading, which may be why the subtitle is there. The ten chapters of the book deal mostly with hermeneutical approaches to Scripture that allow more wiggle-room for evolution than often granted by the church. Really great, learned so much. There are ten appendices that tackle the issues that I bought this book for. I look forward to reading those.

Whoof it all of a sudden got decently technical. Became a moderately difficult read, but still fun. Amazing things. Backup copies of genes in case mutations occur.
