This is an amazing book, very well-written and researched. However, I hope these descriptions of their atrocious abuse of the native people don’t occur too much more on the book; it’s so disturbing. I realize it’s important to the story, and I don’t fault the author at all , but it’s so upsetting! How can humans be so evil? This theme is repeated all through history and its mind-numbing 🥺
