Yes.....

Most people I know don't, except for the ones from Ontario and Quebec who have the maple syrup farms. They definitely do.

I should qualify, yes if it's maple syrup and the container has been opened. No if it's corn syrup or something like that.

Oh, god, why does anyone think maple syrup is the best syrup? It's disgusting. And those vile little maple candies that look like somebody just mixed maple syrup and granulated sugar and pressed it in a mold. Ugh, vomit.

Maple syrup was an acquired taste for me. I grew up on Mrs. Buttersworth.

I didn't. Until I saw my SIL and her family doing it (but only for maple syrup). And since she grew up beside a maple farm, I figured she knew what she was doing. 😆

Yeah, I think it was usually Aunt Jemima in our house. I'm sure you just get used to whatever you have first. Like when I first had real butter, I was like this is wrong. But in a non-awful way. I got used to it though I still think of margarine as what "butter" is supposed to taste like. When I first had maple syrup though, it was this is wrong in an absolutely awful way, and I will take that grudge to my grave. I'm not sure if I had the syrup or those nasty candies first and the syrup just reminded me of the nasty candies.
