@elena - Thank you, Elena!! I'll admit the beginning of book 1 had me ??? at times, but it absolutely improved and imo the "enemy" aspect shone through much stronger than other books that claim the same. Helped that I clicked with the writing style as well! Basically I'm saying I hope you give it a try, but no pressure lol 😇😈

@Liya - Thanks Liya 💖 Yayyy happy to see you enjoyed it so much!! I have yet to get through more than a chapter, but I'm remembering how much I enjoyed this author's writing. Are you planning on reading the first book next?

@Alyssa, not sure about book 1 - I read the reviews and it doesn't sound like smth I would enjoy. If the series is about different couples it doesn't bother me to read out of order and only when the blurb/characters appeal to me. I absolutely loved MCs in this one and the connection between them, while sudden, still rang true.

Omg please tell me you're enjoying this one!!! The blurb has all of my attention so far.

@Liya - Completely understandable! My efforts to get used to reading out of order and dnfing this year has been slow-going, but progress is being made 😆 You'd be better at recognizing this than me as I've read book 1 before, but if we take book 2 as representative of the rest of the series, I'd say they don't seem to rely too heavily on plot points from previous installments.

@Candy - Personal tastes have me liking book 1 more (which I highly recommend if you haven't checked it out already), but this was still a worthwhile read! I really enjoy this author's writing style and will absolutely be tracking their future releases like a hawk 👀 And thank youuu, though please tell me to stop requesting ARCs--review burnout is hitting me so hard but I have no sense of self-control 😂💀

And I totally feel you about review burnout. It hit me hard in winter and I stopped requesting ARCs. Slowly getting back to enjoying it again 😀

@Liya - When the burnout hits, it hits hard 😩 This summer has been especially draining for me for some odd reason. Just have two more ARCs to review by the end of August before I take an indefinite hiatus from requesting haha. Happy to see you’re slowly getting back into the swing of reviews!
