What do we think about the quality of Wilde City Press's books? I don't think I've read anything they've put out.

LenaRibka I like it. For example My Favorite Uncle was released first there!

Katyna I haven't had any issues. Ethan Day is there and I love his books.

Isa K. I'm debating whether to submit my next book to them. On one hand I really like working with Loose Id. They can be a bit stiff and unimaginative sometimes with their editing standards, but I feel like I know their rhythms now. I like my editor and I value her opinion. Despite some annoyance at losing a little artist flourish, I'm always happy with the quality of Loose Id's production and very proud to be one of their authors. I don't want to start over with someone new. I also don't want to wait to get the process started while my submission sits in some general slush pile instead of landing directly in my editor's mailbox.

On the other hand, the book is about mental illness. Although there are funny bits and sexy bits, the standard naked headless stud motif for cover seems REALLY offensive to me. Every time I've asked Loose Id to consider concepts for covers beyond naked people I've been given the "publisher knows best" routine and shot down. Also there is an element of the plot that could conceivably be interpreted as violating the cheating maxim and I'm worried that Loose Id will give me trouble about that.

I like that Wilde City wants to do more general Gay Lit. Not having to necessarily work a love story into things solves a really nice problem for one of my WiP. It could be good to use this book as sort of a trial run to get to know them and their process... I dunno :( I can't decide...

I like their book collection. But I think that they are less known than other publisher.
Maybe you just ask Marshall Thornton?
I'm sure he can ask your questions considering the publishing, he is a really nice and friendly person.

Katyna What about Riptide? I love their website, I've read practically every single book they've published, and they are afraid of shying away from issues. One of the best books I read last year was Glitterland by Alexis Hall published by Riptide. It was funny but had a MC that had mental illness.

While I've heard a lot of truly great things about Riptide both from authors and readers, I don't think it's the right place for me :)

...but I have been meaning to check out Glitterland.

ttg Bold Strokes Books is another publisher that also does gay fiction and gay genre. They're also very nice. That's one route.

I'm sure WC would be good to work with as well. (Whichever route you choose, I'm sure they're treat you well.) :-)
