“Love you, baby.” I wrap my arms around him, resting my head on his chest.

His lips press onto the top of my head, “I love you more, my angel.”

His breathing is shallow, I know he will not be alive much longer. I take my gun, pressing it to his head, willing his one eye to open. I want my face to be the last thing he sees, to be the one that haunts him in hell.

I listen for when her breaths even out as she falls asleep and I tighten my arms around her. The wounds on her wrists, ankles, and her face have haunted me all day long...

His hand touches my face, before coming around and gripping the back of my neck, “The second I walked into that shitty cabin, I knew you were mine. River you are fucking mine.” He puts impasses on the word mine.
I shiver, “Yours.”
He smiles, resting his forehead against mine. “Mine.”

I wake up to the sound of a shrill alarm going off. Gage is already by the bedroom door holding a gun.

"What's going on?” I ask, shaking with being woken so suddenly. He puts his finger to his mouth motioning for me to be quiet. A phone rings and Gage slides his cell to his ear.

“How the fuck did he get in?” Gage roars into the phone only to throw it on the ground, lifting his gun in front of him...

...someone wanted her enough to kidnap her and that is not something I am going to forget.

I look up at her once more before I go to sleep, just needing to know that she is okay.

A piercing beep brings me out of my sleep, I gasp my heart pounding as I run to my computer. A picture flashes along the screen and I almost sink to the floor in shock at what looks like the older version of me. It’s her, my sister. I know without a doubt that this is her. Jessica.

Prologue - Three guys are standing in front of me wearing a white long sleeve shirt buttoned all the way up to their chin, their hair is slicked over to the side, and pale as a f--king ghost with a mark on their skin.
It's the cult my mother was rescued from.
