The novel title is ambiguous; could be translated as The Highest Wrong or The Highest Evil but in the text it’s used in the sense of -he fell from a height and hurt himself badly. Not enjoying the setting nor the characters at all . Someone has gotten away with murder so far. Society was not nice a hundred years ago, 1930’s, no labour unions babysitting people in their workplaces. People had to grovel.
