I am not done, obviously. But I have hated this last (Consul) story and the one before (Brawne Lamia) and feel that they're much weaker than all that came before. Maybe the last 5% will turn that around.

I can't be the only person who finds virtually all battle/fight scenes tedious. However, I'm pretty pleased that I've managed to get 85%+ into this book before one bored me.

So each POV character is basically a different type of story entirely. I knew before I started reading that this is the beginning of a series, and I suspect nothing gets resolved in this book. Despite each character getting a big POV section, they aren't terribly developed, which normally would bother me, but this is just too interesting.

Like, how many kinds of book is this? It's impressive. I'm still enjoying it a great deal.

I don't know what I was expecting, but it wasn't this. It's interesting.
