It is taking me an absurd amount of time to get through this book (from when I first started it to restarted it to now being about 6.5 years), but it has been worth the time. It has been truly fascinating to get these insights into Japanese culture and their actual views of their own culture. Perhaps I can finish this by year’s end!

Such a dense read, but it contains fascinating insights nonetheless. So much of this I’ve witnessed to some degree or another personally, but I’m deeply appreciative of the opportunity to get a more in-depth, statistical view of Japanese thoughts and opinions on cultural/religious matters. Hoping to spend more time with this one than I have been lately.
