Thoughts on the book overall is very meh, great story, great writing, but I don’t care about shallan which is a good portion of the book, I cannot stand the multiple POV thing, and I just don’t love the pacing, I understand that it’s the first of a long series but fuck I read over 800 pages just for it to start progressing it seems

Adolin- it’s not just a battle of his what’s being told to him, he’s genuinely struggling with what he believes in as he contemplates his idolization of his dad dalinar, while he goes down this path of madness and visions. Really good work here
Kaladin- I like him but damn I want more from this side of the story, 816 pages in and he’s kind of just now getting more powerful? Maybe

Shallan- literally could not care less about her and her whole side of the story. Sanderson trouble writing women? Or just a victim to the structure of his own world?
Dalinar - really enjoy his character. Follows the codes (how you would hope a king would act type thing) Adolin- love his character, struggling between what’s popular and codes
