I'm really enjoying this so far! "Mr. Auerbach in Paris" is a straightforward but powerful short piece. Suspect it will turn out to be another autobiographical story when I look into it later. Now reading the title story, with the narrator going on and on and on and on in what seems, having read "The Grandmothers" and "The Pilgrim Hawk," to be pretty typical Wescott. Not for all, but I am enjoying it. 8)
