Honestly there is one more chapter left in this book. Patrick is very interested in the fact that the name of Chapter 12 and the book are the same. He wanted to know if it was like that in a Wrinkle in TIme. We checked and it wasn't. I guess I need to look for A Swiftly Tilting Planet now. I'm glad because that is my favorite book in the series.

Laura is finished
The book is finished. Patrick has been asking me a lot of questions about Mitochondria and I have had to look quite a lot on the computer. Thanks goodness for the internet. It makes answering a child's questions so much easier. Next we read my favorite book in the series. Nothing like a rune to get your blood pumping!!!

Wow, that was a short chapter. I would have read more tonight but it was an Aspie night. Poor Patrick just was so upset because he couldn't find a snack he liked. If he hadn't eaten them all so quickly he would have had enough to last the week. Nothing would console him. The attack unfortunately cut into story time by an hour. I wish I could have extended it, but he needs to get some sleep.

The plot thickens. Patrick is enjoying the book so much. He actually wants to go to bed at bedtime so that I can read more to him. Tonight he noticed the book was nearing the end and made sure I was looking for the next book so we won't lose anytime. I never thought I would hear him begging me to buy a book. He also was concerned that Meg was going to die. I had to assure him that she is in the next book.

Ah now we are getting to the part of the book that I remember, inside Charles Wallace. Funny that I have no problem imagining this. Maybe because I saw the movie about the doctors who shrunk themselves in a sub to go inside a patients body, The Incredible Journey I think it was called. I love how upset Patrick is at the end of a chapter. Tonights chapter was long though I needed a break from reading.

How funny. I remember that Charles Wallace was sick and not involved in the most of this book. Now we are more than halfway through the book and he is still an intergal charachter. I am fighting a battle with myself to not read the book in between chapters with Patrick. I know I could have the book finished by now if I cheated and read ahead. We also have some great discussions about words that we come across.

I am one of those people who will pick up a book and read it until I am done. I have actually read through a night and morning not realizing so much time had passed. Tonight I almost did it with Patrick. I finished the chapter. Meg had to name Mr. Jenkins and the chapter ended. I had to force myself to stop. He has school in the morning. No matter how much I need to know what happens next I will have to wait.

School starts back up tomorrow so we only read one chapter tonight. Oh how he protested and tried to get me to read two. But this book has such long chapters that I fear if I read two we would be up too late. We met the Echroi tonight and got an idea that there was a connection between the rips in the universe and the farandolae. I almost gave in the a second chapter because I want to know what happens next.

This book I remember better than I remembered "A Wrinkle in Time". Patrick is excitedly trying to figure out what will happen in this book. We had to discuss what a cherub was before he understood what cherubim was. Yikes some of the words are hard to say out loud. Luckily Patrick and work together to figure them out. The one thing I love about reading to him is that he snuggles with me while I read!

We rushed to the bookstore today to buy this book. We finished Wrinkle in Time last night and Patrick couldn't wait to start the next one. We managed to get through 1 chapter tonight. I could have read more but he was more bouncy tonight than usual. The best part is listening him come up with predictions while we read. He also "helps" me figure out how to pronounce some of the words. It is a special time.
