the characters and the writing are so lovely but i feel like the story itself isn't really going anywhere

i really like this so far. the characters are all compelling and so far, the author has painted a pretty picture of childhood innocence in contrast with the mounting tension in 80s SL.

the writing style is a bit heavier than i expected it to be but i'm curious about these characters.
