The opening to this book is absolutely beautiful. He actually talks a lot about religion/spirituality/life in a lovely way and I thought 'god, people paint this book as 18th century penthouse forum but it's actually wonderful'. And then I read on. And it got weird.
I'm still enjoying it though, it is so interesting to read about the 18th century in such a casually told way, and I do love the writing style.
