I always forget how whiny Victor is. I wonder, too, if one could call him a sociopath. After all, no one feels the sort of pain he feels. When an innocent woman has been condemned to death for murdering a child, Victor's pain is what's important. She has the comfort of her innocence... but, oh, the pain he feels is not to be imagined!
