I'm really glad I read the little chapters on Mao Tsedong and the Long March as I knew next to nothing about either. I think it's really interesting that Mao is still beloved by some Chinese people;. I'm used to hearing him spoken of as practically Satan incarnate. There are always more sides to a story!

I've learned so much. This book barely scratches the surface but it is showing me areas I need to learn more about. And boy do I need to watch a lot of movies!

I'm finally getting some modernish Chinese history, albeit in a quick and easy summary. I really wish I'd gone to a decent school so I wouldn't just now be learning this.
