One surpising part is when the main character threw his jacket across a fence to just go get it again.He was ashamed to wear it to school since the jacket is so ugly. "I flung it over the fence into the alley. Later, However, I swiped the jacket off the ground and went inside to drape it across my lap and mope."(3).This shows that dispite he dosn't like the jacket he still feels greatful that he has a jacket.
