Burton/Gielgud's legendary 1964 Broadway production of Hamlet, subject of this book, is fortunately on Youtube for to me to follow along with. This was not always something very easy to see; a fine state of affairs and most convenient.

Just going to nibble at this one. It almost got lost in the 100-book purge (which grew to 156 books as purge-mania intensified) but it was rescued along with one other last-minute survivor. Never fear, I still have more than 2,000 books.

William Redfield, who played Guildenstern, also wrote a book about working on this production. Lots of five star reviews on Amazon. Out of print, cheapest used copy? $88.44.

That sounds like a fine book, indeed, but I think I'm set with the one I have. As I say, this one almost got purged. It will get purged once I read it. My new policy is largely to keep the books I haven't read yet. It's just a matter of pragmatism, space and ability to move if necessary.Edmond wrote: "William Redfield, who played Guildenstern, also wrote a book about working on this production.
