Im only 1% finished with the first book of Samuel Pepys (pronounced PEEPs) diary-trio of interesting 1660-1663 entries. So far, I’ve learned his wife burned her hand ; Pepys went to the doctor about his “nose”—finding out it was just a cold; and learning that house sharing was common, if one family had coal to burn and the other family had none. BTW, no mention of going to doctor for wife’s burnt hand.
