Jakki Frances > Status Update

Reading my third Beauty & The Beast reimagining in two weeks and am seeing a disturbing and not enjoyable trend. It seems that everyones idea of beast is a man who enjoys emotionally abusing and demeaning beauty. WHY? Why can he not just be a cranky man? Why does everyone insist on making him a stomach turning abusive monster and the beauty an innocent who craves his abuse?
Thats my 1 hard limit, in life and books
