perhaps,the modern day fundamental hindus are up in arms about this book because Prof. Doniger's interpretation of Muller's kathenotheism and henotheism explained as "whoring after other gods"by monotheistic religions! *yawn*

i'll get through this if I stop reading the 'notes to pages' section.
