y’all… i’m never finishing this book like. I get the point. he saw the west as a hitchhiker, fetishized a Mexican wife, romanticized a working class life and lived to tell the tale. not only does it not age well, I think it was pretentious even for its time.

I don’t remember why I felt like rating this book a 4/5 when I read it bc I remember hating it. Made me never want to read another beat piece, when I feel like there’s a lot to gain from the artistry from this gen. Was not a fan either :(
