Enjoying this more and more. I’ve especially enjoyed the discussions on religion (although I’m not totally sold on his redefinition of religion, it makes for a very interesting discussion) and capitalism (which was much more balanced than I expected). The highlighting of non-sapiens homo species in the beginning was also fascinating.

Also forgot to mention how much I enjoyed the framing of “the discovery of ignorance” as a catalyst for rapid scientific progress.

Good reads lost my second progress update on this, so I’ll summarize here.Section on consumerism was depressing, no surprise there. I enjoyed the analysis of happiness and its history, especially the comparison of a few different approaches.
The last chapter about future developments and modifications of the species was interesting, if even a little spooky.
