So far I'm more interested in the Mercersburg school generally. Though this work is a fascinating read epitomised by the following claim:

“These waves of revivalism shifted the centre of gravity of the Christian life away from the church’s gradual nurture to the sudden transformation of the individual’s heart.”

Nevin's defence of the Heidelberg (and catechetical instruction more generally) beings beautiful balance
