I’m mindblown that she actually didn’t know her mom was an abusive psychopath until she describes her mother’s behavior to her therapist and her therapist literally has to tell her, and then she almost falls apart from shock. What on earth?? This is so tragic

I think it's testament to how easily something like that can be normalized. For her, abuse was her normal. I think it takes a certain amount of distance from that to realize that's not the case, as tragic as it is. :(

It's very common I think when you grow up in abuse. You don't know anything is wrong in ther treatment of you. Until you learn more. At least it was so for me. I was completely shocked and didn't want to believe it at first. And i think that happens alot of people. But I'm not an expert
