I hate Wilbur Smith books, but this one was given to me for Christmas, so I had to read it! I find all his books boring and badly written. Everything is stated in the most obvious way as if he were writing for children - there is no style, no riveting writing or descriptions and neither is there any emotion in his writing. I have heard that he does not do his own research so maybe that has something to do with it. The book just does not flow well well at all. It is like he is completely detached from his characters.
