Nessie’s Reviews > What Souls Are Made Of: A Wuthering Heights Remix > Status Update

I keep putting this book down not because I don't like it, I have too many thoughts.

While both Cathy and Heathcliff find the truth, Heathcliff feels compete with his, Cathy and Hindley are burdened and try to free themselves from it by burning it. But ghosts can't be buried like that, I think. Also the start of Cathy growing closer & closer to the Lintons' world (white, rich).

I love how even apart their pov thought mirro each other in thematics, even if the events they lead to said thematics are different. Heatcliff andVathy find truth but different ones in regards to their origins that lead to different feelings, ones we're not used to associate with each and contrast each other

Even Hindley sees their fathers hypocrisy. He doesn't hate himself for being brown, he hates his father and what he's done and what he put Hindley through, he Hayes thay he has to pay for their gathers coloniser past, he hates that he, even in a position of privilege was put in danger by Heathcliffs presence.

Omg. So that's what Heathcliff does when... omg he hates himself then foo and not only because of ... oh my god

Northwood is really gross huh

Omg Tasha Suri using this argument to expose thay Heathcliff while being cruel indeed isn't just what people have made him think he is... or that he does suggest some brainwashing. That he's capable of good--look this argument is good exploration of his perception of himself vs who he truly is for us, the reader! Brilliant

Ah here we see a glimpse of the ruthless, cruel Heathcliff we're used to

Hindley basically hates himself but he acts it out in Heathcliff because Heathcliff reminds and Vathy to a lesser degree, are living, breathing proof of the truth he cannot hide.
