The author oversimplifies concurrency as an issue with the BGP routing protocol. Having designed & built core infrastructure in my career, it's far more configurable than he makes it out to be.

The issue is more with the TCP (Transmission Control Protocol) vs. BGP. TCP requires acknowledgements of packets. As such, many streaming vendors use UDP (User Datagram Protocol) as the requirement does not exist.
