Interesting book, Natalie :) Given how stupidly ignorant I am about the history of the United States, I think I need something like this which summarizes major historical twist in one volume. Is it objective enough? Would you recommend it for me?

I'll let you know. I'm only a chapter in right now. It's well written at a middle school reading level. I'm homeschooling my 12 year old son, and this is what I chose as his textbook. He's an advanced reader but not very interested in history. This book has a lot of timelines, biographical sidebars, and pretty illustrations to hold his interest.
