I wanted to chip away at mysteries with a dog (or maybe dogs in this one?) so reading one of them. I have identified 43 mystery series with a dog..

Am hoping you like Hammond. He has that wry perspective on life, and is able to explain things concisely. Love the dogs in his books too.

I am enjoying it a lot. I can see where some might find a few things sexist, but I just think of that as funny. Love how the dogs are handled. I think a lot of us fantasize about having a place for dogs so I especially like that aspect as well. The dash of adultery is intriguing as well. So, really liking the book.
Yes, not PC, but not in an insulting way. Very much acknowledges the difference between the sexes.
I see some of the quotes you saved were ones I also wanted to pull out.This also hit my goal of 203 book reviews for 2022 to coincide with my 400th dog book review for the year.
