Like I said on page 503, I hate Philip Pullman. I had heard of the devastation that is the end of this series, but I was not expecting to cry like 5 times during the last 100 pages. What a book, and what a series. Yes, you could maybe call the ending of this bit stretched, but I think that pace is precisely what made it so harrowing. I am beyond mad at myself for DNF'ing this for a few years. Beautiful and profound.

What I said remains, but I've been really enjoying the last few chapters. I never thought this was where we would be going with this series.

I'm really enjoying Lyra's and Will's chapters (like that's the series i love!) but when we're elsewhere my kinda just starts thrifting elsewhere. like I don't wanna say I don't care cus that wouldn't be accurate but my intrigue is definitely much lower.

We have five days of the year left and I picked up another big book. Do I hate myself? Yes, but no, because, jesus christ, do I love being back in this world. I love Pullman and I hate Pullman. Whenever I read these books, the world completely takes over my life. I am there. I am experiencing this story. And that's really the best thing one can do with a fantasy book.
