JA Rock sent me a late Christmas/early birthday present that made me cry.
This is Cleo. JA painted her from a photograph, because she is insanely talented.
Cleo was put to sleep last August, and I still miss her every day.

I should add, I still miss her every day except for the part where I can now leave shoes on the floor and they won't get stolen and/or eaten. She never did grow out of that puppy phase.

You know, despite everything I said about her in my last comment...
Lisa wrote: "I know! I mean, how the hell can I ever beat that? :) "send her a puppy. Or a baby panda. or a sugar glider!
Hugssssssss. That's the first thing lol.And JA is hella talented. I remember that pic. :D
Lol @ Emma. She definitely cheated somehow.
If her excellence in doing public readings is any indication, I bet she can sing, too.
Think her head will still fit through the doorway?
More hugs.
Awe, that's beautiful! I'm sorry to hear about the loss of your wonderful furry friend. This Christmas I got an engraved necklace in memory of my baby girl that we had to put to sleep in May (bone cancer is a horrible thing.)
Still miss her everyday too! I don't see it changing anytime soon... or well, ever.
Gorgeous. I very much understand what a special gift this is for you as my son's partner did a beautiful pencil drawing of the Dalmatian who lived with us for 17 years for my husband and we truly treasure it. Photographs are lovely but they really can't compare to the beauty of a painting or a drawing of a much loved pet that's been done by someone who knows you and understands your loss.and yes what Emma said, really getting in the talent line twice so greedy ;-)

That reading at GRL! I KNOW! If she wasn't my friend I'd have to hate her a lot.

Five months on and I'm only just at the point where I can maybe start thinking of getting another pup. It takes a while!

Lisa wrote: "Five months on and I'm only just at the point where I can maybe start thinking of getting another pup. It takes a while! ..."I can so empathise with this. I lost two beloved dogs within a mere 8 months, my wonderful Mr. B this week completely without forewarning and so young, and few people other than other pet owners understand what it means.
I envy you your wonderful gift.
Hugs for you, Steel.Lisa wrote: "That reading at GRL! I KNOW! If she wasn't my friend I'd have to hate her a lot. "
Exactly.
And it's so much easier and takes a lot less energy to laugh instead of hate lol

It does take less energy to laugh, but if I don't give in to my hate, how will I ever join the Dark Side?

Thank you. Why is everyone breeding for looks, work or speed and not for health and longevity? I'd have no problem with being with an ugly mutt, if only they lived a bit longer than 8 or 10 years.
Heh, JA sounds wonderfully multitalented, but then she's got to hold her own with you, Lisa, what do you expect? :)

Lol! FANFIC!

I just saw this... WOW! what a fantastic gift, Lisa (and *amazing* talent re: JA Rock)*swallows down lump in throat*
Holy crap! That is seriously amazing. I had to zoom all the way in to see that it was a painting and not a photo. I'm sorry about your Cleo. It's always tough losing one of your furbabies. I'm sure she's enjoying her time over the Bridge of Rainbows. Likely with all the shoes she can eat. ;)
It's a beautiful painting and a wonderfully thoughtful gift.
