Bookish resolution for 2023: write more creative reviews for books I enjoyed. Or didn't enjoy. Snarky reviews are cool.

I was overly sluggish during 2022 when it comes to creative writing and I missed planning and spending time on writing reviews. I want to start enjoying that process again.

I am curious if anyone has/had block when it comes to creative writing overall?

Gamar ❤ yeah sorta... like i just dont feel like writing a review ? its happened plenty , i usually find that if i take notes AS im reading the book and keep tabs & notes on qoutes i liked or qoutes that made me feel/think anything wether positive or negative it usually rlly helps me get my thoughts together at the end , sorta like a draft for the final review ( which is why i love using my kindle , helps so much !). Also writing a review immediately instead of procrasinating can help . But if im being honest the best reviews of mine (imo) are written when i put myself in situations where i have been sort of FORCED to write a review . Like when theres no power/electricity and so i decide to work on my review ( i feel so productive then hahahh ) orrrr if i go to the farm and have more time , even if its just a lil bit eventually it works . It mainly just depends , that goes for in depth reviews but if its a book i hated or disliked , i find writing the review immediately when my hatred is still burning strong is best

How do u write ur reviews ?

I noticed that if I haven't written a review in the short time after finishing a book, I might postpone if forever. So I prefer to at least make a draft in the first few hours after finishing a book. My favorite reviews are for 1-2 stars because as you've mentioned hatred burns bright and so much snark is ready to spill, lol.
