Oh no, this book is basically commentary in every passage in Guideways... oh no, that was not what I was here for. I am out.

And now it takes about the plaques in Guideways and this is still the introduction!

I can belieave that the Guideways were written both as a reflection of wu-shamanic practices as well as for entertainment, several of its critters fit shamanic hallucinations and stuff people write for a good laugh.

Ok, what does all this information on the reception of the guideways have to do with the book itself?

So a legend says that this King Yan of Xu was collecting strange animals... hm, I wonder how that looked like. And if this Xu is a state, why is it referred to belong to China? How does this book define "China?"
