Im curious if the author was intentionally committed to Anna’s self-absorption by having her either ignore or unaware of the Mandalay Bay shooting that could have taken place when she was there in 2017. It could be a testament of Anna being consumed by the reality she wanted to be a part of instead of the reality she was in. What do you think? Intentional or coincidence?
