This story goes on forever, yet the author finds ways to make the narrative interesting. He is very clever with his descriptions of the world he's created in his mind. Very realistic and very poetic all at once. An enjoyable journey.

The writing is incredible. The phrases and metaphors this guy uses are unique and mind-blowing. I don't even know if they make sense, but somehow I understand it fully. What a great display of writing skills.

Did I mention this is a 900 page book? The writing is exquisite. He uses words and phrases which I'm certain have never been thrown together before and if closely examined probably have questionable grammatical sense, but somehow it works. He does go on for paragraphs describing a character's physical features, but again, in his hands it works. For other writers, I wouldn't recommend trying this at home. Intriguing.

This book is very long, but the prose is magnificent. Roberts puts together some phrases that I've never dreamed of and yet they work. Magnificently written. So far nothing dramatic has really happened, but because of the writing I don't care.
